Woman Asks Husband To Decline Offer To Work At Dream Job Or Face Divorce

Marriage is one of the most complicated relationships there is. As beautiful as it is, couples go through many issues they could never have anticipated.

Sometimes, even anticipating those issues doesn’t change their adverse outcomes. Many couples have to navigate delicate things like finances, health, other relationships, and, not to mention, the many twists and turns life throws at people.

Unfortunately, only a few couples can navigate these issues without driving a wedge between themselves. That’s why divorce rates worldwide continue to spike each day.

In the U.S, for example, research shows that almost 55% of first marriages end in divorce. That’s pretty high when you think that this means that only slightly above half of the marriages in the country will go the distance.

We found a story on the AITA subreddit that shows clear signs of a crack in a once-happy union.

A Redditor shared that her husband had gotten a job for a company in direct competition with the company she works at.

While the job is her husband’s dream job, it could end her career and jeopardize the family’s finances.

OP explained that she offered her husband two options: to decline the job offer OR accept it and move out of the house, as they would begin divorce proceedings.

She had no option than to ask him to decline the offer. But hubby wasn't going to just give in to such a request when this was literally a dream come true

The people in the comments section agree that OP isn’t in the wrong in this situation. According to them, OP’s husband is being selfish because OP’s career is specialized, and she wouldn’t be able to work in her field ever again if he took the job.
