People are assuming that this is taking place in some sort of food establishment and we have to agree just based on these events that played out.
Mental health days are for your health, so it should be treated as such. People should be more understanding of this in general.
She did nothing wrong because she came in when she couldn't get it covered and just worked her shift instead of not showing up.

The supervisor was obviously just mad about the fact that she tried to call out in general, and probably nothing to do with her "abusing the system."
They are becoming more recognized but people are still thinking small when it comes to the freedom you have to your own mental health.
These people used sick days for literally nothing and they're living their life fine. Just don't make it a habit.

Well, this was an interesting and funny story. People agreed with OP on how she handled the situation, and they said she's not abusing the power at all.
She wanted a mental health day and tried to take one, but nobody would cover it, so she worked. She didn't do anything wrong; the coworker i just salty that she tried to call out.
