Cat Lover Spends A Whole Year Making The Coolest Outdoor Enclosure For His Cat

Cats are often very spoilt creatures. And look, cats deserve to be.

Whether it be the dozens of toys you buy for your cats that they never use, or the luscious pillow your kitty ignores in favour of the couch; cats are pretty much used to having everything they could ever dream of. These cats are on a whole other level of spoilt and I am living for it.

Some cats love to be outside, however it isn’t always safe for them to be. For this reason, many people choose to build cat-enclosures so their cats can enjoy nature, but also be safe. The cat house that this guy built is on a whole other level of impressive!

This is another classic tale of "man doesn't want cat. man meets cat. man falls endlessly in love with cat.:

While Derek Roche initially didn't really want a cat, his girlfriend's enthusiasm won him over.

Then, when he met Jellli, he fell head over heels in love with her.

Sadly, Jellli began to have some health issues and was less keen on going outside. After adopting two more outside-loving cats, Roche knew he needed to find a safe way for all his cats to get the benefits of being outdoors.

So Roche, with little experience, built the BEST outdoor play space EVER.

It took him a year to complete.

Roche told The Dodo:

“There was a lot of detail in the work and I was pretty much learning as I went. I had a plan in my head and I pretty much stuck to that. Jellli came on-site every day and I watched her movements and her reactions to how things were going, where she liked to sit, how she climbed around the structure. And I used her to get a sense of scale for walkways, doors etc. I tell people that, as well as my muse, she was my site manager and co-designer.” 

Jellli loved it immeditely.

Her brother Smudge also adored it, whereas it took Penny a few days to feel confident in it.

Roche is working on installing a skywalk to connect it to the house; so the spoilt kitties can come and go as they please.

The huge cat house has litterboxes and fresh water; so there is everything they need to enjoy their day, whether it be lying in the sun or having a catnap.
