Most moms and dads are great things in our lives. They generally provide a united front to whatever issues are at hand and are able to work together to solve the problem. They love their kids with everything they have. They explain important life situations. They give rides to sports practice. 

While they do work together and come to conclusions together, it doesn't mean that they think the same. Or act the same. Or even explain things the same.

The comics below illustrate the differences between the artist's mom and dad, despite them being married for the last 40 years. And tbh, it sounds like it could apply to a lot of other parents I know as well.

Mom is pretty straight-forward.

Dad is more about the feel-good and necessary distractions.

Mom made sure that she had the correct, anatomical answer.

Dad was a bit more on the cabbage patch side of life.

Mom didn't want to give false perceptions of life in their new country.

Mom has solid, practical advice.

Dad is protective over his little girl.
