Texas is currently going through one of the harshest winter storms since 1989. Temperatures fell below -10C (14F) and the state is barely coping with the demand for electricity after its power grid failed.
Millions of people were left without electricity after the grid operator implemented rotating power outages to reduce the demand. The storm and its aftermath caused 23 deaths.
On Tuesday, millions of people had to survive another cold and lifeless night without power. The storm swept across the southern and central parts of the United States and in many of these places, such conditions only occur once in a generation.
