Chris Young Cleared of All Charges Following Arrest At Bar In Nashville, Thanks Fans With New Song

On Friday, the Nashville District Attorney's Office declared that all accusations against the country star would be dismissed "following a comprehensive examination of all available evidence."

This scrutiny encompassed security footage revealing Young placing his hand on the shoulder of a Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission agent, who then pushed him into a table, resulting in Young falling backward.

Shortly after being absolved of all allegations, Young took to Instagram to express his gratitude for the overwhelming support he received.

"I'm still grappling with the fallout from the false accusations and events of the past week," he stated. "But I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who stood by me. Your support meant the world to me, and the outpouring of encouragement from friends and fans who said 'We got you, we don’t believe you did any of this' was incredibly uplifting."

He continued, "No one should have to endure what I went through. However, amidst the turmoil, witnessing the love and backing from all of you was a beacon of hope. As a token of my appreciation — because this wasn't planned — I'm releasing a new song from the album for you all to enjoy. We're dropping 'Double Down' at midnight, and I genuinely hope you relish it. Turn up the volume, savor it — I'm grateful for you all, I love you, and thank you."

In a statement, Young's lawyer, Bill Ramsey, remarked, "Mr. Young and I are pleased with the DA's decision to clear him of any wrongdoing and dismiss the charges."

Young's arrest on January 22 for disorderly conduct stemmed from allegations by ABC agents that the "Famous Friends" singer had created a "hazardous or physically offensive condition by an act that served no legitimate purpose."

According to court documents obtained by ET, agents claimed they were conducting a compliance check at Tin Roof in Midtown Nashville around 8:30 p.m., where Young was seated at the bar. After presenting his identification, Young allegedly asked questions and recorded the encounter.

Phillips said that when Young's ID was given back, the compliance check was completed, and the agents went to the nearby pub, Dawg House.

The document detailed that Young and a group of friends followed the agents to Dawg House, where an altercation occurred.

Agent Phillips alleged, "Mr. Young put his hands out to stop me from leaving the bar and struck me on the shoulder. I then pushed Mr. Young to create distance since I had no idea who Mr. Young was or what he had."

It further claimed that "Most of the patrons in the bar got up and got between TABC Agents and Mr. Young and began yelling and screaming." Another agent purportedly engaged with Young, who "began walking backward and not complying" with orders.

The document also alleged that Young's "eyes were bloodshot and watery as well as having slurred speech."

Following the arrest, Young's attorney asserted that his client "should never have been arrested and charged in the first place" and called for the charges to be dropped once security footage emerged.
