If you're someone who was born in the 90s then you've probably heard from your parents or grandparents just how different things are. We hear it all the time and there have been a lot of different instances where they've shared what differences they are referring to.

Whether it be the difference in how their school was set up, what they did for fun then versus now, or even just how they were disciplined. No matter what we've probably all heard it at least one time and we will probably be the ones telling our future kids that too.

There are a lot of things that we can think of that our grandparents and parents were allowed to do or not allowed to do that are different from us. That's the beauty of different generations and looking back on the way times have changed.

Today we have some of the oddest or most surprising things that people have shared about their childhood experiences from the 70s and 80s. These things can be worse than what we deal with, better than what we deal with, or even just weirder than what we deal with.

1. It's so wild to me that this was a common thing.

2. McDonald's was a full entertainment park from the looks of it.

3. I'm sorry but this is a no from me.

17. It seems that teachers were very violent back in the day. I don't think I'd be okay with this as a parent.

18. I'm sure there really was never anything to watch on TV with just four channels to choose from.

19. Smoking was such a common thing and it's so wild. Now you don't even see smoking sections in restaurants or anything.

20. This honestly would be so cool though. I mean, to have it roll around would be so fun.

These things that people experienced as children in the 70s and 80s are absolutely mind-blowing. I mean, smoking was very common, teachers were rough with students, and people even had to share a phone line with neighbors.

We can all agree that things are just a bit different now.
