Genetics are wild, y’all. We mash up 2 sets of DNA to make a whole new person and the physical qualities of each parent play out in unpredictable ways.

With the exception of identical sets of children (twins, triplets, etc), each new child created with the same pairing of DNA looks completely unique. Of course, there are characteristics of their parents that may be obvious, but the fact that each new pairing of the same dang DNA makes up a completely unique individual is ASTOUNDING.

And while there’s the old wives tale that newborns and infants favor their father in appearance, it’s been scientifically debunked. In fact, research shows that babies generally resemble both parents equally.

It’s when they really grow up that we start to see how their genetics have arranged and which parent’s set of DNA is more prevalent. So, out of curiosity, we decided to compare celebrity moms with their kids to see how much they look alike.

We selected 20 famous mothers and found pictures of them at the same age as their children are now. Continue scrolling to see who made the list and whether their sons and daughters favor their genetics more than their fathers.
