If you are among those pawrents who have a house cat, then you probably already know that it is so essential to keep them entertained and active. Some of the time, our kitty companions need more than just standard feline trees and way more than toy mice.

They tend to get bored and are always lurking around, searching for new ways to keep up with their playful instincts. That is the reason Mike Wilson and Megan Hanneman came up with their Catastrophic Creations.

Now hold on! Their intention is not to create a catastrophe but to make hand-crafted systems that are mounted on walls. This creation is meant to engage the playful instincts embedded in cats.

Each piece in these catastrophic creations has a modular design. This simply means that there are unlimited designs to be made out of these unique jungle gyms.

Wilson and Hanneman began building their feline furniture some years back, and that was when they adopted a high-energy desert lynx cat and gave him the name Ickle. Regardless of being very charming, their new addition to the family cried continually, and, very much like all little cats, he was incredibly active and began getting up to mischief.

Hanneman even made a joke, saying that "one morning we woke up and stumbled into the living room. To our surprise, our new baby kitten had gotten into my tool box and taken apart our couch and rebuilt it into a cat bridge."

After seeing that scenario, a brilliant thought came into their minds— "we’ll lock him in a room and start selling all of his creations on Etsy."

If the photographs on the Catastrophic Creations Instagram page are anything to go by, their creations positively give unending entertainment to felines, no matter their age. The kitty clients of the organization are captured running along the feline bridges, climbing up and down the feline trees, and, when they’re totally exhausted, they get a good snooze in cat-sized hammocks.
