Russian Trash Sorting Employee Discovers Mysterious Bag, But Then Horrified When He Finds What's Inside

A worker in a wasted disposal plant in Ulyanovsk, Russia, recently found something unusual while sorting out the trash on a conveyer belt. Inside a plastic bag, there was a live cat.

Hard to believe, but some ruthless person threw away a live cat in the trash, knowing that it will end up in a trash crusher. The conveyer belt in question was the last stage before that.

The cat was fortunate that the waste disposal plant has such diligent workers. The whole rescue was captured on CCTV cams. It shows Mikhail Tukash lifting a white plastic bag from a conveyor belt and cutting it open to discover a black and white male cat.

Sadly, this is not the first time that workers at the plant have rescued abandoned pets. They have saved two turtles and a hedgehog during the past few months, and they are now living at the facility.

"Each of our operators that are standing at the sorting line is making incisions on each package," says Igor Perfilev, the facility manager.

"The cat has survived by a miracle because the garbage track has its own press. Firstly, he got lucky there. In total, it survived two times, thanks to the fact that our operators stopped the sorting line in time, and we have given the animal a second life," he added.

The Ministry even shared pictures of the cat napping in the environment minister Gulnara Rakhmatulina’s office. They have also announced a nationwide contest to choose a name for the lucky cat.

The cat was unofficially named deputy environment minister.
