While cats are widely appreciated for their independent and low-maintenance nature, it's sad that some owners cannot provide even the minimal care these feline companions require. But it's important to note that when cats become strays, it's not solely due to negligence or lack of care.

These ventures into the wider world may often be spurred by natural instincts, such as seeking a mate, finding a secluded spot to give birth, or pure feline curiosity. Regrettably, these journeys can expose the cat to severe dangers that may threaten their survival.

Stray life strips them of regular meals and shelter and exposes them to a variety of threats like extreme weather and predators.

However, there is a glimmer of hope. There are kind individuals out there who cannot bear to witness a cat's suffering. They dedicate their time to catering to these cute critters, bringing them to shelters, or even opening their homes and hearts to them.

These individuals are truly extraordinary, and their compassionate acts deserve the highest commendation.

Buddy was found injured at the side of a bustling road

A woman was passing by when she spotted an injured Buddy lying by the side of the road. She stopped her car and stepped out to help him. 

According to Tomato Foster Club on Facebook, “Buddy was spotted lying near a busy roadway by one of our fosters. She pulled over to see if he was okay…she grabbed some food from her trunk and followed him. When she opened the can, he slowly and cautiously made his way to her. With some patience and the help of another foster, they were able to safely secure him.”

The woman who stopped by was an animal foster caregiver, and she got Buddy some food from her vehicle. She gently secured Buddy with the help of another caregiver.

Despite his rugged facade, Buddy was a robust and friendly cat at heart. Upon careful assessment, the vet concluded that Buddy had the capacity to bounce back from his various health issues.

However, to kickstart his healing process, a fostering environment was necessary.

After scrutinizing various options, the rescue was able to find him a perfect sanctuary in Boston, Massachusetts. Here, he will not only enjoy the company of other cats but it also ensures a secure setting for his recuperation and any required medical interventions.

Buddy has settled into his new home

Cats deserve the best and most comfortable of homes. We’re so glad Buddy bounced back despite how difficult it must have been for him.
