War is hell, someone once said. And they were right.
Ukraine is currently in disarray, as we have all witnessed. The news has left everyone in the world unsettled.
Of course, we're most concerned about the people, but as animal lovers, we're also concerned about the pets. We can't help but feel sorry for them, hoping that someone will come to their rescue.
And some are. Despite the chaos in Ukraine, it appears that the cats have not been forgotten.
And they are still not indifferent...We've seen innumerable stories in the last two weeks of incredible people - nothing short of heroes - escaping danger with their kitties in their arms. We've seen photos of military personnel saving cats, people carrying animals across the Ukrainian border, people sitting with cats in shelters, and people attempting to find a place for their cats to stay until the crisis is over.
Seeing these amazing rescue stories serves as a reminder that, at their core, humans are nice and compassionate. Even in this terribly tough time, these stories provide a ray of hope.
We have collected some of the most interesting stories and photos. While you are going through them, please send some prayers for this madness to end.

Via @LorenzoTheCat, Lesia SmykovskaDuring these tense and tragic times, many Ukrainian civilians have been seen escaping to safety while hanging on to their beloved pets. People from all around the country are taking refuge in subway stations that have been converted into shelters and making their way nervously to the country's borders in order to save their families and pets from the ongoing disaster.
