This Cat's Love For Peaches Will Absolutely Make Your Day

Nothing better than a fuzzy peach.

Oh, who doesn't love going to the market on a sunny summer day and buying some fresh and delectable fruits. Those juicy apples, peaches, and pineapple that are just waiting for you to take a bite of.

It's the best part of summer and it's not only us humans who apparently love fruits, but this cat is totally crazy for peaches. The best part of all he doesn't even eat them, he just loves laying and taking a nap on their fuzziness. 

Ozzy the 5-year-old Tabby even finds different uses for the peaches each and every time his family brings some home for him.

"He nuzzles them, uses them as a pillow to rest, or just stands over them guarding them," Lydia Coutré, said, whose parents own Ozzy. She and her sister Lorraine have been amused by his love for peaches since they got him.

"He was introduced to them the first peach season our family had him," Lydia said. "He found them on the table and immediately started rubbing on them the first time he was around them, so we think it's probably the feeling of the peaches that he likes."

Ozzy's owners tend to leave their peaches on a sheet of newspaper so that it can get ripe and juicy. This gives Ozzy the perfect opportunity to snuggle up to the fuzzy peaches and if his owners don't want to clean their peaches from cat hair they have to go to extreme measures. 

"My mom once put the peaches in the basement to keep them away from Ozzy," Lydia said. "But he still found them, and left a cat-sized hole in the middle of what were previously neat rows of peaches."

Lorraine and her mother were volunteering at the Harbor Humane Society and even though they weren't looking to adopt they decided to have a look at the kitties who were up for adoption.

But when Lorraine saw Ozzy she immediately fell in love with him and that is how he got adopted in the fall of 2013 into a loving new home.

"I saw Ozzy in the main lobby at the very beginning (his name was Blaze at the time) and couldn't keep my mind off of him," Lorraine explained. "When I finally got to meet him right before we were leaving, he just completely melted in my arms. Mom couldn't say no, partially because I was begging, and partially because it was 'Free Kitten Friday,' and we brought him home!"

Even though Ozzy is all about love and snuggles he doesn't seem to love any other fruit, except peaches.

"Ozzy hates clementines," Lydia said. "He smells them, makes a face, turns up his nose and runs away. Ozzy doesn't cuddle any other fruit — just peaches."

Since the Coutré family learned of Ozzy's love affair with peaches, it has become a family joke and way of amusement. Ozzy's mom and dad will also highlight their daughters' day by sending them pictures of Ozzy snuggling his favorite fruit in a family group chat.

Lydia decided she just couldn't keep the hilarious and adorable photos to herself anymore so she decided to post it on Twitter. 

In just a few days her tweet went viral with over 100,000 likes and over 60.000 retweets! But Ozzy doesn't really care about any of that he is just concerned about the peach season that is coming to an end. 

"I'm just glad the internet loves him as much as we do," Lydia added. "And perhaps we'll buy him some out-of-season peaches to keep him company."
