Cats are adored pets, and people all across the world say cats improve their lives. Cats are loved for many reasons, including their sensual beauty and emotional impact.

And it's beginning to look like science confirms what cat owners have long known. That is people's mental and physical health are positively impacted by spending time with purring cats and receiving tender, affectionate fluff butts.

The greatest thing you've ever seen may be the result of a man attaching a camera to his cat. There is nothing quite like watching cat videos on the internet, but have you ever thought what it would be like to see the world from a cat's point of view?

While the concept of mounting an action camera on a pet is not entirely new, it is now feasible to accomplish so without causing any discomfort to our notoriously finicky feline companions, thanks to technology improvements. The main editor of the well-known consumer electronics blog, Tom's Guide, used these stylish, state-of-the-art cameras to record an amazing video that showcases his indoor-outdoor cat's joyful antics.

Mike Prospero, the distinguished EIC of Tom's Guide, decided to attach an Insta360 Go 2 camera, no bigger than his thumb, to his beloved cat, Mervin, after reading an intriguing article in the New York Times in late March that focused on the trend of cat owners letting their furry friends record their own adventures.

“The cats in the other videos I’ve seen have a pretty active social life, chirping and purring near other cats and frolicking around their yard,” the man wrote. “Does my cat have a similar joie de vivre? I was about to find out!”

Prospero claims that rather than seeing any notable action, he saw Mervin being extremely lazy, which validated his first opinion of Mervin's lethargy. Still, there was one interesting occasion that was caught on camera.

Mervin jumped up into a tree, slid across his yard's fence, and stopped briefly to provide a sweet bird-chirping voice—a habit that cats are naturally drawn to, despite the fact that it endangers our feathered friends. The result was uninteresting, but it did feature cute moments where Mervin was being gentle with his delicate paws.

Prospero repeatedly stated that he planned to send Mervin around with the camera again in the hopes of catching more intriguing events. Hopefully, there won't be as many naps in the next videos.

Still, it's amazing to see a cat hop into and out of trees with grace, showing off those beautiful whiskers and paws. I'm just speculating, but this idea might also serve as the basis for some amazing virtual reality games. What are your thoughts about this story?
