In a tale that seems straight out of a mystery novel, a real-life cat burglar has captured the attention of the world after being caught on CCTV with a knife in her mouth. Dubbed 'Klepto Kitty', this feline felon's daring antics have left many both amazed and bewildered.
Join us as we delve into the curious case of 'Klepto Kitty' and her notorious reputation as a purr-fectly skilled thief.
A real-life cat burglar has been caught on CCTV carrying her stolen loot through the cat flap. Meet Gingee, the four-year-old Maine Coon who has earned the moniker 'Klepto Kitty' after her owner started sharing videos of her daring escapades on TikTok.
This mischievous feline is guilty of ransacking and raiding her neighbors' homes in Buckley, North Wales, leaving a trail of bewildered residents in her wake.
Under the cover of darkness, Gingee, the crafty thief, was caught in the act, a stolen kitchen knife clutched between her teeth. With stealthy precision, she returned home and dropped the blade onto the sleeping forms of her owners, Jay Phoenix, 43, and Mathew Westlake-Toms, 31.
Startled awake by the unexpected intrusion, Jay and Mathew exchanged puzzled glances, bewildered by their feline's daring escapade.
According to the BBC, Gingee's stolen goods include a spade from a child's sandpit, a kitchen sieve, Sellotape, scissors, and even someone's goggles.
Jay explained that Gingee's criminal activities started a few months ago when his partner noticed various items disappearing from their home. However, Gingee's appetite for thievery only seemed to grow as she expanded her repertoire to include more valuable treasures.
"We found football cones for training," Jay revealed to the publication.
"She's constantly coming through the cat flap, and the cones were quite flexible, even though they were really big. Some of the footage we captured is just ridiculous. You wouldn't think they'd ever fit. I'm surprised she fits because she's quite a big cat."
In response to Gingee's mysterious acquisitions, Jay took action by installing a camera in the kitchen to monitor the little thief's movements.
"I heard a tapping on the door that sounded strange, like a human or something solid. I thought nothing of it and went back to sleep," Jay explained.
In response to Gingee's mischievous exploits, the owners have been documenting her naughty activities on her very own TikTok account, @Gingee_klepto.
In one clip where the feline brings home the knife, the owners jokingly suggested the need to install a metal detector on the cat flap.
Other videos showcase Gingee sneaking in with various items, including what appears to be a plastic bottle, a straw, and water balloon filters.
