It can be really daunting to think that we really are required to work to be able to sustain ourselves and our family, especially when we aren't exactly born in a life where everything is already handed on a silver platter. Many people also couldn't afford to go to college and get a degree, and not be able to have a diploma that they can use to make the whole job hunting process a lot easier.
Sadly, a lot of us get stuck in a job that only pays enough—or sometimes even just at the minimum wage, just for us to get by. Many end up in jobs at fast food chains, and while it's not exactly the kind of job any kid would dream to have, sometimes it's enough for people to sustain themselves and their kids for many years.
One prime example of those people is this particular Burger King employee named Kevin Ford. Burger King, the second largest fast food chain in the world, has been running since 1954, and Kevin has spent 27 years of his life working for them.
You would think they would give him some kind of grand incentive for his 27th anniversary, given that he has been loyal to the business for almost three decades—but all he got was a goodie bag that his coworkers put together as a way to celebrate this milestone. A video of him receiving the bag went viral, and many people expressed disappointment over Burger King, so they tried to put a GoFundMe for him!
The GoFundMe initially had just a goal of $200, but as Kevin's story went viral, the donations have reached over $328,000.

“I’m happy about anything, I’m thankful for anything I get, I’m not that type of person, believe me. I’ve been through a lot,” Kevin told TMZ, adding: “It’s a great company, you know, I’ve been there 27 years. But, like most big corporations, they’ve kind of lost touch with their workers, and through Covid and whatever, they started cutting out programs.”
thekeep777He only received a goodie bag from his team, which contained a reusable Starbucks cup, a movie ticket, two pens, and some cheap candy—but he was still very much grateful.
thekeep777On June 20, 2022, his daughter, Seryna Ford, created a fundraiser for her dad's dedication to working in the fast food chain. The donations poured in, as a lot of people were touched by Kevin's story—and the money was going to be used to allow him to visit his grandchildren.
“My dad continues to work there, because, though he does look young, he is coming up on retirement age and leaving would cost him his retirement,” Seryna said. “In no way are we asking for money or is he expecting any money, but if anyone feels like blessing him, he would love to visit his grandchildren.”
thekeep777The support continued to pour, and Kevin has expressed his massive gratitude to the people in his videos posted on TikTok and Instagram.
“I’m headed off again to another day of work, but I love y’all and I gotta get outta here before I start crying. This really means so much to me, God bless!” he said.
“I appreciate everything that you’ve done. Now I’ll be able to take some time and go see my grandkids, spend some time with them. You guys… It’s just so beautiful,” Kevin continued in one video.
thekeep777Kevin actually has a dream to make music, and it's the one thing he would leave his work in BK for.

Norma DeLibertyHe deserves a lot more for his humility.
Ellejay EmmillThank the heavens for the good hearts of strangers on the Internet, because they have definitely made Kevin's life a lot better—and he gets to see his grandkids! It's really just sad that fast food employees have to suffer such poor services from the companies they work for, though, and it should've been BK's job to recognize Kevin's efforts and loyalty in the first place.
