The infamous broccoli gate conversation continues as grocery store workers come out to say their opinion on this. Recently a whole situation happened where a woman was explaining the broccoli gate situation and talking about how you're usually paying per pound for the produced in the grocery store.

This is when people started mentioning how they can or should remove parts of the product that they don't want or aren't edible, or just didn't necessarily need, and so you won't be paying extra for these parts. Essentially, this blew up on the internet, and so many people were blown away, impressed, and happy to hear this trick, but also, some people had a lot to say that wasn't in favor of this.

With that being said, we wanted to share this video from the perspective of a Walmart employee who shares their take on what they think is appropriate when it comes to this. A few Walmart employees and others went to TikTok to explain what they thought about this whole broccoli gate situation.

This whole Broccoli gate situation started when a TikToker showed herself removing parts of her produce.

The TikTok account @mimicarter81 showed herself buying some broccoli, but she actually snapped off the stems/ends of them before purchasing so she wouldn't be charged for the extra weight of it since she wouldn't eat it anyway.

The video got a lot of views and blew up quite quickly with so many responses and opinions.

This is when a Walmart employee came out and made a statement saying that it was completely fine to do this. She even gave another scenario where she says that some customers even do the same thing to cabbage and remove the outer layers that they won't be using.

It seems that some people knew about this little trick forever, but it took a whole video to tell the rest of the world this hack.

As the videos started to get more attention it turns out that a lot of people actually have been doing this for awhile and that it's completely fine.

A lot of people might not know this but produce can be bought separately and placed in a produce bag if you don't want the entire thing.

One example of this would be grapes that are sold in a bag, but you don't have to get the whole bag. “If you only want a handful, you can get a produce bag and you can just take out a small handful because it’s sold by the pound,” she said.

This is where people started commenting and the comments were quite funny at first.

I think having loose produce makes sense as well instead of putting them in bags, especially if we are allowed to separate anyway.

People are really starting to understand this situation and finding out that you can do this has blew people's minds.
