College Students Gets Boyfriend Arrested For Stealing Her $14K Cash Stash, Ends Up Being Harrassed By The Man's Family For Doing So

It takes time to trust someone, even if they are already someone special in our life. It's truly sad to think that we could never truly trust someone fully because there is always a possibility that they would still end up betraying us one way or another.

Trusting our significant others with everything in our life, especially financial matters is one thing—but having to trust someone you haven't even dated enough to tie the knot with is a whole other story. We have to be cautious with the people we let into our lives, especially when we aren't stable enough to hold ourselves up yet when it comes to sticky situations.

That's definitely a lesson learned the hard way for this particular Redditor under the handle u/Personal-Muddy, who got into a complicated situation with her boyfriend after discovering he stole her secret stash of money amounting to $14K that was supposed to be used as payment for her tuition. When she finally confronted him about it, he made her out to be the crazy one—so OP called the police and tried to have him arrested.

Things got a little more intense when his family, most especially the boy's mom, joined the fiasco, and OP became the sole target of their hurtful and racist comments—despite the fact that it was her son that stole in the first place.

She has been saving up for her tuition and she has made it a habit to store her cash in a box inside her closet before depositing it as payment. Her boyfriend often comes over, but guess, OP never told him about the box that contained the money.

He is aware that she's been saving up money for education purposes, though. However, despite not [supposedly] knowing about the box, OP went home one day and discovered that her secret money stash was gone.

She called her boyfriend to ask about it—but he just made her seem crazy for panicking. He then later admits that he did take the money, a total of $14K, and just told her he would pay her back.

The boy's family found out and went on to harrass OP, even if she was the victim in the situation. She was assured by her boyfriend's brother that they would help pay back the missing money so she should just drop the charges she raised.

It's definitely disheartening to lose so much money in just a blink of an eye, and it is even more heartbreaking to find out that the one who stole it was someone you thought you could trust with your whole heart. That boy is gonna be crawling back begging for forgiveness, for sure!
