Photographer Captures The Amazing Portraits Of Black Pets To Show People How Awesome They Really Are

Black pets get a lot of bad rep just because of their color but they're just as awesome as other pets.

Everyone knows that black cats get a bad rep a lot of the time, right? And it's just because of this old old old belief that they brought about bad luck.

Sadly, it's not just bad cats who go through this kind of judgment. Every black-colored pet out there does.

And we don't really understand why.

They didn't ask to be born in black color. Plus, that doesn't change how loving, loyal, and smart they can be.

Unfortunately, not everyone thinks that way and there's still this prejudice against them. Oftentimes, for pets in shelters, this causes them to get adopted last.

Fortunately, there are people out there set to change people's perceptions. One of those is pet photographer Chantal Levesque.

With her project Chasing Shadows, she showcases black pets and photographs them against shades of grey locations to display their spunk, personality, and liveliness, and badassery without any distraction.

The only color that the photographer leaves out is that tiny speck in their eyes that lets us gaze into their affectionate souls. Through various shots, Levesque tells people their story and urges them to change their minds about these gorgeous pups.
