Redditor Tells Mom To Uninvite Her Uncle For The Holidays Because He Didnt Wish Her A Happy Birthday
"His ex wife always remembered my b-days and special occasions, but not him"

Birthdays - It's not every day that you have a whole day to yourself, but you accept this inevitable fact. It's your special day after all.
So its normal to be pissed off that such a significant event might be forgotten, but you also realize that for most people, it was just another weekday, neither better nor worse than the day before. How could they?
Although it is the ultimate betrayal, you are still required to smile and appear enthusiastic when the person shows and still pretends to not know that it's your day. Your facial expression skills will be put to the test.
The AITA subreddit received a story about a redditor in her early 20s who lives with her parents. They took her uncle in after his wife threw him out for cheating.
He always spent his holidays with the OP's family, as there was no one else he could spend them with. The OP's birthday happened during a low point for him, and he forgot to wish her.
The OP was hurt but still forgave him, but then he forgot about her birthday again, and this time around, the OP was really pained. So the OP informed her mom that she didn’t want him over for the holidays and that she wouldn’t attend if he came.

Being snubby and rude to everyone

Birthdays are not that important

Grow up cos you are being selfish

You can't dictate your parent's plans for them

Some people's brains just don't remember birthdays

This is an extremely childish reason

The only way to get people to notice your birthday

They can't even shoot you a happy birthday text

You can get your answer as well as your closure

The world doesn't revolve around you and your birthday

Move out so you can be in charge

It is not that big of a deal

Uninviting someone because they forgot your precious little day

You have been unwilling to confront your uncle

That's not yours to start with

You are reacting quite immaturely

Grow up and start acting your age

You did say he was going through things

Your mom said no so you're not attending

In some homes, every day is an occasion to celebrate life and good health. Therefore, when someone forgets your birthday, it's an unpleasant situation that causes a range of feelings.
The OP was no different, and this is how she chose to express her anger. Drop your thoughts about this story in the comments below and share this post as well.
