Our houses are filled with things that could harm our birds and potentially be fatal. Birds have sensitive lungs, and any toxins in the air can cause harm to them.
Generally, any substance with a pungent smell should be handled with care around birds. Products that release strong fumes need to be kept as far as possible from them while also ensuring to air out the place after being done with it.
It's best to keep the following things away from birds: Smoke, paints and glues, toys, sprays or diffusers, non-stick pans, glass windows and doors, human foods, beauty products, carbon monoxide, household cleaners, zinc, lead, candles, and plants. A Redditor who goes by the username u/BrnNCrash made a post on the r/tifu subReddit where they explained how they almost exposed their birds to deadly danger.
The subReddit is usually about people who already f***ed up, but this one has a happy ending. The user forgot that their birds were flying around their room and turned on a pedestal fan.
The user received a lot of different reactions to their post. Scroll down to check out the full Reddit post, and scroll a little further to read the comments from the original post.
