Cloning Milestone: New Monkey Species Raises Ethical Questions

These life-size cats can be constructed and deconstructed as you see fit.
If you've never heard of LEGO, you might be living under a rock and you must have been there for about 80 years. LEGO is a Danish toy with an unprecedented history of bringing joy to humans of literally all ages.
Every second, 7 LEGO sets are sold by retailers around the world and the LEGO bricks sold in one year can wrap around Earth five times! The LEGO company, who says that LEGO is an adjective and not a noun, has also confirmed that the plural of LEGO is... LEGO.
In 1932, a carpenter named Ole Kirk Christiansen began making wooden toys and created The LEGO Group, and in 1949 Christiansen patented a wooden version of the famous inter-locking LEGO brick and then the version we know and love today was patented in 1961. The patent expired in 1978 and other toy companies and manufactures were able to try their attempts at rivalling one of the most famous toys in the whole world.
Today, many companies make an interlocking brick-like toy similar to LEGO, and many of them are also marketed as being compatible "with leading building bricks." While no company has been able to dethrone LEGO in any capacity, some companies, like JEKCA, have made some genuinely cool products!
JEKCA has created LEGO-like models for the kid in you to assemble into the coolest, life-sized toy cats!
"JEKCA has a patented technology which helps create these complex structures. These cats are like real sculptures and will not collapse or break apart. No glue is needed and the procedures are reversible and straightforward. A detailed step by step manual is included in package."
"You are free to assemble your favourite Husky pose and decorate your home. JEKCA huskies require no food or exercise and no barking for sure. It is a great PAWject at home."
"I am so thrilled with how it turned out!! It is quite sturdy due to the locking screws. They protect all of my hard work and hours (16 total) invested to assemble. I love it!!"
"Great product, good quality, and suitably challenging for older teens and kidults."
"Customer service is second to none, kits are amazing and so much fun."
"I cannot find any words but 'I love it!' It is super cute and the staff is so helpful and responsive. The experience is far more than online shopping, it is like making a new friend and making something fun together."
JEKCO is on to something clever, cute, and cool, but there's still nothing in the whole world quite like LEGO. Did you know that merely six 2×4 LEGO bricks can be combined in more than 915 million ways?
LEGO is so popular and so well-established that we have all sorts of fascinating and fun facts about the Danish toy. Such as: 1,300 LEGO pieces are made per second, 78,000 per minute and 4,680,000 per hour.
If you played with LEGO as a child, you probably wondered if you could build a LEGO tower to reach the moon... well, you technically could. We actually know that it would take a column composed of approximately 40 billion LEGO bricks to do so.
"It is believed that Leonardo da Vinci spent 4 years on Mona Lisa. Have you ever imagined that, you can one day empathize the patience, persistence and immense satisfaction of the past great painters? JEKCA allows you to recreate the 5 classic paintings with JEKCA bricks."
In addition to the Mona Lisa pictured here, you can get The Girl With the Pearl Earring, Starry Night, and The Scream.
JaysBrickBuilding says: "One of the biggest developments with the LEGO Brand is the sheer volume of brand collaboration." This was especially true in 2020 when LEGO added brand collaborations with Adidas, AirBnB, Ikea, and Nintendo.
Other collaborations that have reeled in delighted customers of all ages for LEGO over the years include LucasFilm (Star Wars,) Jurassic World, and Harry Potter.
"JEKCA explores around the world and introduces a new series “Architecture and Wonders” with 4 amazing landmarks as a debut. The same as other JEKCA brick sculptures, this new series are to be built very sturdily by our patented brick-through interlocking system. No glue is needed. Instruction manual is step by step and straightforward. It’s time to rebuild the Wonders at home!"
Some of the other options in the Architecture Series include Stonehenge, the Louvre, and the Moai Statue.
"They are Pterodactyls, Stegosaurus, Velociraptors and ultra-realistic T-Rexes with 2 colours available each. We’ve made a serious effort in designing these realistic dinosaurs which you can't find another comparable one in the market. The biggest size is our Homebuilder series which can be up to 3.5m long x 1.6m tall. It is easy to build your own Jurassic Park with JEKCA!"
Most LEGO bricks are made of ABS plastic, which means they will never decompose, but LEGO has also introduced a plant-based brick ourced from sugar cane. The future of LEGO and it's unofficial competitors is definitely bright!
