Disney Announces Live-Action 'Bambi' Remake But Some Fans Have Issues

It is evident that Disney Company's plans include remaking most of its classic movies. It is only natural since their remakes of the Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, and Aladdin were hugely successful.

Apparently, Bambi is next on the list. The company confirms this, and they are planning to go into production soon. Although most people consider it to be great news and a fantastic way to make that classic story more appealing to today's young viewers, some Disney fans think it won't be a good idea to revive this wonderful story of a young deer and his friends.

Disney already started the development process by enlisting Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Captain Marvel, Tomb Raider), and Lindsey Beer (Sierra Burgess Is a Loser, Chaos Walking) to work on the script for the movie. Depth of Field will produce the film. No additional information, like start date, or release date were revealed.

What we do know is that it will be made in a similar way as Jon Favreau's earlier Disney films, The Jungle Book and The Lion King. So, it is expected that the movie will have "envelope-pushing CG technology to create ground-breaking photo-realistic and immersive worlds of nature."

It is very likely that Disney is counting on Bambi remake to be a hit, since both The Jungle Book and The Lion King were huge blockbusters for the studio. But while the company is making financial calculations and thinks about profit margins, some Disney fans are viewing this project from an emotional point of view.

There is actually a large percentage of Disney fans that are not happy to see the remake. And they are all listing the same reason.

Bambi, a Life in the Woods by Felix Salten, was the book that inspired the movie. It was published in 1923, and the main characters are Bambi, a rabbit called Thumper, and a skunk named Flower.
