Couple With A Newborn Is Furious Because Family Recorded And Kissed Their Baby Without Their Consent

Many parents choose not to post pictures of their children online for several valid reasons. Once a picture is shared online, you can't know where it might eventually end up, and you lose control of how people might use it.

Complete strangers can download your baby's pictures and use them however they see fit. It could attract unwanted attention and lead to cyberbullying and harassment.

It's important to note that sharing pictures of your children online ends up creating a digital footprint that will follow them their whole lives. Future relationships or employment opportunities might be affected by this digital footprint.

A Redditor who later deleted her account made a post on the r/AmItheAhole subReddit where she explained how her family refused to respect her and her husband's wishes after bringing their first child over to meet them. The user and her husband aimed to reduce their child's digital footprint and asked their family to ask for consent before kissing or taking pictures of their baby.

The Reddit community had a lot of different reactions to the user's post. Scroll down to check out the full Reddit post, and scroll a little further to read the comments from the original post.

OP and her husband have every right to wish to reduce their child's digital footprint. However, if family members want to take a photo of their child to save the memory and moment, there isn't much they can do about it.

Their child will eventually be out in the world, and cameras will constantly be around them. If you enjoyed reading this, make sure to check out similar content on our platform.
