Tattooing Your Zodiac Sign Onto Your Face Is The Latest Trend

Cosmetic Tattoo Artist Jessica Knapik has started something utterly fascinating. She's the creative mind behind the latest body modification trend of not simply tattooing freckles onto your face, but in the shape of your star sign.

"In Western astrology, astrological signs are the twelve 30° sectors of the ecliptic, starting at the vernal equinox, also known as the First Point of Aries." Most people know their zodiac or astrological sign, and while many people do not believe it's anything more than woo, a lot of people are really invested into all things zodiac related.

Knapik was really onto something when she created "Astro Frecks," and began tattooing people's zodiac signs onto their faces in the shape of their star signs.

Thrust into the mainstream, as many as 145 million people in the United States have at least one tattoo. But it was all the way back in the 1930's were cosmetic tattoos became a thing, courtesy of tattooist George Burchett.

Cosmetic tattoos include permanent eyeliner, lipstick, and eyebrows.

A major trend of tattooing freckles on the freckle-deprived grew with popularity and now it's taken on an whole new meaning with Knapik creative technique of putting them in the star shape of one's astrological sign.

Freckles are all the rage in the modeling industry so this double whammy is actually pretty cool if astrological signs are your jam.

Once healed, Astro Frecks look incredibly natural. Knapik says they look pronounced at first, and that's normal.

Tattooed freckles are considered permanent but they will fade over time.

In an interview with Inked Mag, Knapik said:

“It’s a cute, personal, secret way to connect your sign and the universe to your body. I used to draw caricatures of famous people when I was little, fashion designs, and animals.”
