America is number one when it comes to confusing the whole world with its unusual habits and practices. If the whole world agrees on doing something a certain way, America decides to do it the "American way" and ignores what everyone is doing, which is why we can't always understand some "American things."

For someone who has never visited the United States, the only view they have about the country comes from consuming American TV shows and movies. But of course, show business doesn't give an accurate representation of what real American life is like, and people are often left deeply confused by what they see.

Some parts are repeated in movies and tv shows so much that you start to wonder if it is a real aspect of American life. A typical American movie will always have at least one scene that shows one of these typical "American moments," so no wonder people think they are real.
