Mom Wants To Exclude Her Son From Family Vacation To Even The Score Because He Went To A Friend’s Birthday Party In Disneyland, And His Sister Didn’t
We're here with another AITA post because people seem to love going to Reddit in order to ask for advice and information. We love these because it usually helps us to see so many perspectives when it comes to a particular situation.
We wanted to bring another story to you today and highlight some of the best responses because this story is a bit controversial and weird. These two parents seem to have gotten into a disagreement about punishment for their child and when this punishment is necessary.
The dad is the Original poster who asked about the situation and was looking to gain insight on if he's actually in the wrong or if his wife is being over the top. Some of the comments might actually surprise you, but overall a consensus was made among the Reddit users commenting on the post.
It's always awesome to use Reddit as a middle ground to get opinions and perspectives that are outside of the personal circle of the original poster. This is something that people have taken advantage of and we're loving it because it really shows how people can come together to solve a problem.
Let's dive in and look at this scenario that this father brought to Reddit and look at some of the top comments left on his post.

Here's the continuation of the story and his reaction to his wife's response.

Then here the comments start off with a NTA answer.

People started throwing out suggestions to compromise but OP shut them down.

Simple but definitely the correct answer to this post.

People are also suggesting that the mom have a favorite child, which very much may be the case.

Another person saying she has a clear favorite. I honestly get this vibe too though.

She's definitely going to ruin her relationship with them and their relationship with each other.

She very much is being petty, but masking it by offering equality between the two.

Life isn't always fair and it's important for kids to learn that early on.

It's giving weird vibes and I'm not sure what person would do this either.

These are valid questions being asked by Reddit commenters because the mom doesn't seem to like her son.

It very well could be unresolved issues from her childhood.

This comment seriously deserves all of the awards and likes that it got.

People begin sharing their own similar stories and how it affected them in the long run.

The father is doing the right thing and his son needs him to stand up for him.

Different opportunities come with having siblings and sometimes they won't always have the same opportunities.

It's honestly not even appropriate for her to try to "even the score"

People are saying to die on this hill, which means just that he should fight for the right thing because he's not in the wrong at all.

Siblings will have different opportunities. That's just life.

Now for the top comment that deserved all of the love it got because it hit the nail on the head.

I honestly thought going into this that the comments might be on the mom's side simply because of the scenario, but it seems people were seeing the situation for what it is. Having multiple children is hard but knowing that everyone gets different opportunities will help them in the long run.
What do you think about this situation and who was right or wrong?
