Don't breathe too loud, or you'll probably get charged for that too!
For many years, Airbnb has been the preferred choice of accommodation for avid travelers. After all, staying in an Airbnb is generally a lot more comfortable and cozy than a generic hotel room.
However, more recently, some Airbnb hosts have taken things a bit too far when it comes to their pricing, hidden fees, and excessive rules, so much so that many travelers have decided to boycott Airbnb altogether and return to staying in hotels.
One TikToker recently posted a video calling out his over-the-top Airbnb host. He even shared the outrageous list of rules his host sent to him.
TikToker @doveslayer89 stitched a video originally posted by @tiaashley21 where she started by saying, "We are in an era right now where hotels are making a comeback and Airbnb's are starting to flop." In @doveslayer89's video, he detailed his recent experience with a nightmare host.
The TikToker explained that this particular host sent him a DM two weeks before his check-in date, listing "all of her extra rules and extra charges.” The list included things like being charged $50 a minute for a late checkout, costs for wearing shoes in the house, and only being allowed to drink three beers per day.
And that was just the beginning! "She had other ones like if you have more than two bags of trash, she was going to charge you $2000 for that trash," the TikToker said.
Luckily for @doveslayer89, Airbnb was able to assist him. "I was able to cancel my full stay and get a full refund for this stay," he said.
The moral of the story? Always read the fine print, and know what you're getting yourself into before it's too late.

What's your take on this? Do you think the Airbnb host is entitled to make their own rules no matter how ridiculous, or is there a limit to what is reasonable here?
In this case, it almost seems as though the host doesn't really want to rent out her property. It certainly makes us wonder.
