Cheating is a situation that happens more than people like to admit. Most of the time, it doesn't result in a pregnancy, but sometimes it does.
The child should usually be considered the only innocent party in the whole experience. However, their sole existence can sometimes be a constant reminder of the affair, which can make recovery quite difficult.
People can sometimes lift themselves out of a very narrow focus on the pain the affair has caused and expand their considerations to do what is best for the child. Mistakes have been made, but the child who resulted from that mistake should not suffer unnecessarily.
The mistake itself cannot be undone, but people should at least not make more mistakes afterward. The children are always innocent in these situations.
A Redditor who goes by the username u/pinkrya made a post on the r/AmItheA**hole made a post on the r/AmItheA**hole subReddit where she explained how she helped her cousin out after getting pregnant from an affair. Op's husband got mad at her for helping since she cheated with his sister's husband.

Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeAnything can be considered controversial these days.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeOP did the right thing by supporting her cousin.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeBoth the cousin and the cheating husband should share the blame.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeEveryone assumes that because she's a woman.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeEveryone sucks here except for the married man's wife, who's clearly the victim.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeA child should not be blamed for their parent's mistakes.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeWe don't currently have access to that information.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeWhy is the baby's father not helping as well?
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeThe husband is equally as guilty as the cousin.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeThe husband wanted to punish an infant for something they didn't choose.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeIt's not a good look to do that behind your husband's back.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeOP's marriage can be impacted because of this.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeThe husband will be resentful towards OP because of this.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**hole"She did her marriage a real disservice by not telling her husband."
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeWhy does no one have any empathy for the woman whose husband cheated on her?
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeIt's OP's money too. That's how marriages work.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeOP should have consulted with her husband first.
Reddit: r/AmItheA**holeOP did the right thing by helping her cousin. The father doesn't seem to be in the picture, and punishing an infant who never chose to be part of this is simply immoral.
However, OP should have told her husband about her plan since she used their money to pay for the things she bought. If you enjoyed reading this, make sure to check out similar content on our platform.
