We all want our cats to have long, healthy lives. A healthy cat has a lifespan of at least 15 years.

Unfortunately, accidents that could have been avoided can cruelly end the lives of even the healthiest cats. Because of this, pet parents must take all reasonable precautions to keep their cats safe. 

You could assume that this is just a risk you face while owning an animal if your cat is an autonomous outdoor cat. However, there are techniques to guarantee your outdoor cat's safety. 

If your budget permits, you could choose to provide your cat with a secure outdoor area to play in. As they're referred to, "catios" can offer a screened-in space and even attach to a window or cat door so your cat can enter and exit the house as they choose.

Your cat will be able to go outside without having to deal with the risks of wandering. Then there are times when cats can wander off into the strangest of places just to have a nap.

You know, places like your dryers, dishwashers, and the rest. For this Redditor, one of his cats made its way into the dryer and almost got killed because of it.
