Even the most kind among us may pause when dealing with those who don't recognize or, worse, actively abuse the compassion of others. And this is what we see in today's AITA story.
A Reddit member, who is also a business owner, used to provide coffee, snacks, and chips for the staff. But later on, he discovered that the food is always consumed before the month ends.
The staff's behavior remained the same even after the Reddit user requested that they use caution when grabbing the goodies. So, the OP made the decision to make some adjustments inside the business.
The boss also opted to remove personal tools from the mechanics' workshops and decided against providing complimentary chips, water bottles, cable, or cheaper coffee.
"I believe every mechanic should have their own tools and was lenient with them, basically always using MY tools and even having to occasionally replace them even if I wasn’t the one who lost it. Everyone was pretty stunned, and one of the mechanics even had to drag his toolbox from home to be able to work properly again in the shop," wrote u/tKLogicTA.
The OP further added that he believes everyone there is getting paid fairly based on where they are in the Midwest. "Most of these individuals I have known for years, and the turnover is pretty low," says the OP.

I was hired to supply ice cream to a fairly large union shop facility. Evidently it wasn't enough. Employees starting going into the locked warehouse and taking what they wanted.
After about a year & a half of this, management had enough. Now, no more ice cream for anyone.
