It started as a hobby but quickly became her full-time job. Now, Dutch photographer Renate ven Lith is the International Birth Photographer of the year for 2020.

There's been a lot of negative energy this year, but one thing that always sparks joy is the birth of a baby. If you told your grandmother (or likely even your mother) that someone was going to photographer them giving birth, they probably would have told you to get the hell out of the delivery ward.

Nowadays however, birth photography is one of the fast growing photography industries. It captures moments that emotional parents are generally incapable of capturing themselves because they're too busy... you know... giving birth and welcoming their new baby!
